Studying For Optaining Accereted Associate Degree Online?

Q: I am a 38 year old who is a Founder and CEO of very successful S. California based software firm for the last 8 years. Here's the problem. I never had any chance to complete high school in U.S since I had to work full-time in order to support my family from my 16th birthday. I tried to earn AA degree at California Community Collages when I started my own software firm but I was only able to complete two 3 unit courses. My travel and work schedule did not allow me to attend regular scheduled courses. I want to complete transferable AA degree so that I can at least finish my Bachelor's degree at any well known US private or State Universities. Is there any program or method which allows me to work and earn accredited AA degree while I am in the business location, traveling or at home? I really can not commute to school in order to complete AA degree because of the company reputation. BTW, money is no object here if I can get my transferable AA degree that will be accepted at UC Universities or other private colleges in California.

A:Yes. Start reviewing these three links, and come back. http://www.cosc.edu http://www.regents.edu http://www.tesc.edu My congratulations first on starting and running a successful business, and second for seeking to better yourself through continuing to pursue your academic goals. I very highly recommend getting a copy of "Bears Guide to Earning College Degrees Nontraditionally". You can find it on Amazon, or directly from the author, John Bear, for 1/3 less than the normal price. (j...@ursa.net). Many libraries also have it. John's book will give you info on hundreds of schools offering distance learning degrees where you can study on your own time, take courses online, receive college credit for the things you've already learned through your work experiences, and lots of other good information. You might be surprised to know that you can get a legitimate, accredited college degree (even up to the doctoral level) through distance learning. The programs are designed specifically for people like you. The one thing to beware of is that there are many bogus schools out there who claim to be accredited, but are actually tiny operations run from mail receiving services. John's book (or advice from the folks here on a.e.d) will tell you what you need to know to make the right choice for your particular needs. I am working on my Bachelors right now, also from home. Have you been to http://www.lifelonglearning.com? All types of info on distance and adult ed. I foung a couple of good programs through them. Congratulations on making the decision to finish your educaton. I think it is commendable.
