New York City

Few cities offer such a wide selection of enjoyments as New York. Here you can find history, come face-to-face with the avant garde, and do everything in between if you have the time. Take a carriage ride, visit the Statue of Liberty, or take in a sporting or cultural event in the evening. Whatever your proclivities, New York is ready to meet them. Fine dining restaurants and nightclubs abound. Try Abistro for French-African fare, Beast for a delightful way to calm those savage tastes, and Klong's for a Thai menu. With so many wonderful eateries to choose from, you will be hard pressed to find enough time to visit all the ones you would like to. You may wish to try one of the international restaurants that allow you to sample cuisine from around the globe, including Indian, Russian, Mexican, and Middle Eastern dishes. For a simpler outing, pick up a deli picnic and head for Central Park. Listen to great music, watch people and their kids at play, or simply enjoy the relaxing sights and sounds of this oasis within the city. Take in a band concert or browse local grocery stores or shops to chat with the typical New Yorker. When you're ready to shop, keep in mind that New York's primary industry is fashion apparel, with publishing its second main occupation. You will enjoy window shopping to admire the beautiful new designs in clothing and browsing bookstores for the latest best sellers. To pump your adrenaline, stroll the downtown area for a glimpse of the skyscrapers and the high-power financial district. You may be able to catch an off Broadway production or visit one of the many eclectic art museums. When you go out at night, it is a good idea to travel in pairs and be careful where you go at night, however. With so many sites to see, plan your trip early, along with the transportation you will take, in order to avoid long waiting periods or lines. You also can get the best prices when you schedule well in advance so that all you need do is arrive and have fun!
