Getting A Toronto Map

When planning to visit a large or new city, it is always a good idea to get a map. Even if you have been there before or feel that you can ask directions to get where you want to go, a print piece of information may come in handy if you get lost or have difficulty in explaining your destination. Toronto is a beautiful city with lots to see for the average tourist. Even if you are here on business, you may be able to find a little bit of time to take in the city's fine restaurants, museums, or entertainments. But if you start out walking or attempt to drive from one place to the next by car, you may experience difficulty when hitting a one-way street or missing your turn. Before leaving home, ask the AAA or your travel agent about how to get a map of Toronto. He or she can possibly give you one or tell you where to access a copy. Depending on your point of departure, you may wish to download a few map directions from MapQuest or another online driving site. You also can buy a map at many convenience shops, auto service stations, and discount stores. Then get a marker and carefully trace your proposed route. Even if it's just a walking tour map, it helps to know which way you're headed when you glance at the map while in a hurry. Fold the map and stash it in a handy location, like your wallet, a pocket, or your shoulder bag or purse. Take it with you even if you don't think you'll need it. Chances are you'll bump into another tourist who may want directions, and you will be able to help. Maps can come in quite handy when traveling, so don't be afraid to get one or more before leaving home.
