Flying To Greece?
With record breaking numbers of people visiting Greece for the 2004 Olympics is no mystery that Greece is becoming a favorite tourist destination. Once you have your passport in hand the only thing left to do is book the flight. But you ask which one? There are five major airlines that call Greece home- Aegean Cronus Airlines, Euroair, Hellas Jet, Macedonian Airlines and Olympic Airlines. Aegean Cronus Airlines Having expanded to 14 major Greek cities and 11 countries, Aegean Airlines has also recently partnered up with Lufthansa Airlines to provide passengers with more traveling options. By the end of 2005, flyers will be offered code-sharing flights with either airline. This means that flights of either or both airlines can be combined, reserved, and one single ticket will be issued. This helps to cut down paperwork making flights more interchangeable between the two airlines. EuroAir Known as EuroAir Regional Aviation, unlike other Greek airlines, this airline travels domestically within the Greek market. Founded in 1995, EuroAir prides in their aviation expertise. In the winter of 2004, Euroair released its ATP aircrafts in an effort to meet market demands as well as provide its passengers with a more luxurious traveling experience. These aircrafts, also used in the United States, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, hold 68 passengers per cabin enabling higher serviceability and attention from the staff. Hellas Jet Hellas Jet frequently travels to Athens and Manchester with daily flights to London, Paris, Zurich and Brussels. This makes it an ideal airline to those who travel regularly to Europe. Frequent travelers also have the option of joining Hellas' Frequent Flyer program to earn points towards free tickets. Whether you travel economy or business style, all passengers have the luxury of leather seating. Drop down screens are also available providing various types of programming, from daily news and educational shows to different kinds of music. Macedonian Airlines Since 1994, Macedonian Airlines has been flying passengers all over the world and is one of the lead operating airlines in the Macedonian market. With frequent destinations to Europe, the airlines network continues to grow. Macedonian Airlines is also internationally recognized as a member of many international air transport associations. Olympic Airlines Known for their cheerful and friendly customer service, Olympic Airlines has a perfect on time track record. Flyers have individual video screen for a private, comfortable and entertained flying experience during long flights. Despite their employee strike in 2003 and with questions of bankruptcy, the airline remains positive. They are a favorite to Greek natives since they offer great discounts for tickets booked while in the country.
