Find A Paris Map

If you are lucky enough to visit the city of Paris, France for business or pleasure, it may be helpful to obtain a few good maps that will help you navigate the city. While you can always take a chance and head out on a discovery-oriented walking tour, it may be helpful to take a map or two with you in case you end up in an unsavory district or run out of time. Cruise the Internet or check with your hotel staff to get a map of the city streets. Paris is divided into districts on some maps, which will make it easier for you to find specific locations and get from one area to another. Soon you will learn your way around and even be able to correctly pronounce street names and site designations. Another type of useful map is one for the metro underground. You will want to know which stops to get off on as you travel about the city from one destination to another. Like a bus legend, the subway system map can help you visualize the basic transportation framework and allow you to plot any needed transfers. It may be useful to find a map that lists city attractions by numbers or colors. If you are sightseeing on a tight schedule, you won't want to waste time getting from one location to the next or trying to explain to a native French speaker what you are trying to find. Stick a map in your pocket and pull it out when needed. For larger exhibits or sites like museums or cathedrals, a site map may be helpful in getting through each section or finding the places of most interest to you. These will be available at the location but also may be handed out at larger hotel chains or coupled with maps of other sites. Ask for one if you don't see it. Some maps can be downloaded from Web pages, while others can be asked for in person. Don't hesitate to seek what you need in order to facilitate your travel within the city and your appreciation of its various landmarks and entertainment sites.
