Anything About Nutrition Course Online

Q: I'm sorry that I don't know anything about their medical billing course, but my husband took their Nutrition Course and was shocked at how good it was. Even though it is a not-for-college-credit course it was one of the most thorough courses I have ever seen -- with an excellent set of textbooks and other related materials. My husband, who has an MS in a scientific field was really amazed. He was just interested in the information and wanted to know more for personal reasons and then felt he received much more than he expected. Of course, no transferrable credit to any college -- but what was important to him was the quality of information and he was happy with the way they charge for the materials ?

A:PCDI is great for certain subjects they teach but medical billing is best taught by a school that specializes solely in educating those interested in the healthcare industry. As a eight year medical billing business owner I have come in contact with many potential employees that have different levels of education from different sources. I have concluded that the least favorable because they are not subject/industry (medical billing) specific so the teaching is usually surface/basic information usually taught at a very high price. These big learning clearinghouses (as they are known in the billing field) will make you into a medical billing jack of all trades but a master of nothing and it will show when you enter into a medical practice for employment, try to start your own home based medical billing business or interview as a medical biller in a hospital setting. I usually tell folks that my first choice for medical billing education would be the vocational/trade schools found in their local yellow pages or trusted newspapers. The next would be to take courses at a local college (although in many states this is just as or more expensive than PCDI). Finally if travel is out of the question or if it's more convenient for you I would suggest taking the online medical billing course taught and owned wholly by medical billers and medical billing business owners ($500 TOTAL) at the following website: http://tinyurl.com/m194 In my opinion when you're taught by practicing medical biller/medical billing business owners you know you'll get exactly what it is you need to know to do the job professionally because they are in the trenches everyday of their lives. They understand exactly what you will go through, how hard it can be during the different stages of learning and they will instinctively know how to help you along. The other benefit is that they are also a great networking opportunity when it comes to finding jobs, alerting you to new information about the field and putting you in touch with other medical billers (new and old) in your area.
