Good Correspondence Courses?

Q: Can anyone recommend from experience a good correspondence course for learning about herbs? There are so many to choose from and it's very difficult to assess scope, depth, and timeliness of information without actually joining the course...

A:I think good correspondence course is an oxymoron... j o s h I don't. Good correspondence courses are really good for the stark beginner, who is out in the middle of nowhere with nobody to ask about things. I wish I'd have known of a good one when I was at that stage, some 20 or so years ago. It'd have saved some good herbs from being wasted, I'm sure, and might have saved me some learning time. I have heard only good things about the ones marked "good". Now, correspondence courses are fine and dandy really only for the stark beginner. When you want to use herbs on others you need hands-on training. There's some lists of good hands-on schools in the medicinal herbfaq, too. He writes a newsletter called Sunshine sharing...he used to be affliated with NSP, not anymore. Also might be under Tree of Light. He also writes a journal/mag called Nature's Field.
