Did I Fail Sexual Harassment Training?
Q: It has to happen every once in a while. A magazine has an issue that
gets some people's knickers in a twist, and a recent issue of Linux
Journal has stirred up a small hornet's nest based on the most recent
One of this month's letters says, "I am extremely upset with the cover
picture selected for this issue.... I was extremely embarrassed for my
secretary to have had to see this when distributing my mail.... Your
company has presented a very volatile Sexual Harassment Potential in my
Federal Government Office." Another one says, "I am shocked and
appalled at the picture on the cover of this most recent issue."
What are these writers upset about? Pictures from Abu Ghraib?
Snotminers in action? Full-frontal nudity? No, it's a picture of a
belly dancer. Evidently she should have been wearing a burka to be
acceptable to the Morality Patrol. You can see the cover of the issue
in question at
A: Your company has presented a very volatile Sexual Harassment Potential in my Federal Government Office." Lemme just say this. There are employees who find themselves in places that don't require them to work and there are no consequences. These employees ususally are insubordinate shitheads who like to cause trouble for others. If a lazy good-for-nothing "employed" by the federal government "decided" that the cover was offensive, he or she may be able to get some attention and get a boss fired for sexual harrassment. The shithead would be perfectly justified in this situation and would feel oh-so-righteous. I hate people like this. They make everyone look over their shoulders as they slither around gathering "evidence" against people they don't like. The federal guvmint is a perfect place for them to "work," because they can pull this kind of shit for years unitl they retire.
