Maryland Ged

Q: I posted here quite a while ago asking about getting a GED. I left school a month ago and will be getting my GED soon. I know I can go to a 2 year school for a while and transfer to a 4 year college but I'm wondering if I have any chance being accepted into a 4 year school right off the bat. I've taken the SATs twice and scored 1200. I'm thinking of applying to Evergreen state, Cal Arts, Goddard, U Maryland, U Redlands, College of Santa Fe, NYU (mega reach, I know), and possibly UT Texas. I'm wondering if I have at getting in to any of these schools. They all say they accept students with it and not a traditional diploma but do they really? I know this is a silly question, but on all the applications they require you send them your HS transcripts. How would I go about doing that? My old school wouldn't even send them to me.

A:Your SATs look good. Would you mind posting why you didn't finish high school and why they say they won't give you your transcript? If you have a good reason for not finishing high school and gettind your GED I'd say you are competitive for every school you listed (although some like Goddard I'd never heard of, so I'm doing some assuming there). in my school in order to have your transcripts released you have to sign s release form. they can't deny you your transcripts it's not legal You can definitely get into Cal Arts. All they really look at over there is your portfolio. I think you should be able to get into Evergreen and Texas as well... not too sure about the rest. For NYU, whether you'll be admitted depends on your grades.
