Shotokan Karate?
Q: I am interested in shotokan karate but I don't have time to go to a school because I am a full time student and I work full time, but I would like to learn shotokan. Is there a good online reference that I could learn shotokan karate?
A: I'm afraid that if you think you can learn karate of any perceivable quality from scratch from a book, video, or online reference you are sadly mistaken (valuable training aids though they are). All you will probably manage is to pick up a lot of bad habits that'll be harder to correct when you do go to a proper school/club. Make time to go to a club, or postpone trying to learn until you can would be a better idea, I think. You might want to work on your all round fitness and flexibility (careful now) until then, however. You cannot escape the fact that it is a time commitment, and quite a large one if you want to be any good.
