Report As Well?

Q: I have just got a copy of my credit report from Experian. Does Equifax hold the same information? ie Do they share information and would the report show the same, or do I need get a copy of the Equifax report as well?

A: -You'd think they should be, but they are not consistent. I get data on one report but not on the other. If I was you, I'd get both to be sure. -You should get both. They get data from different, but not mutually exclusively, sources. Some credit providers report to one but not the other, and some (most) report to both. You should find that where the latter happens, the contents, allowing for any time delay in updating their files, is the same between the two, but even that doesn't always

happen. The upside of each company having (in some cases) different credit providers reporting to them is that, if you have, for example, adverse credit showing on one report but not the other, you can apply to a credit provider who you know only reports to the one that shows you in the better light, with a greater chance of success. The problem is in finding out which credit providers report to which company, or to both. - if you were a lender which used (say) Experian, and a prospective borrower asked *which* credit reference agency you used just before applying - wouldn't you get a little suspicious of what might be on their Equifax report??
