An ankle injury can be caused by anything; it could be an accident or a sports injury. Running and twisting your ankle could cause your ankle to break or become swollen. Rehab ankle injury is done through a process which has been conveniently named PRICE, standing for Protection Rest Ice Compression and Elevation. You will not put any weight on the ankle for sometime and this many require you to use some crutches and a brace for your ankle so that is does not move sideways and hence prevent further injury on the ankle.

You many need to use ice to reduce the pain and the swelling once the ankle has been injured. You will need manuals therapy by a physiotherapist in rehab, and if the injury is not severe by yourself at home. This is a form of exercise which helps the ankle to move sideway as the pain decreases. The physiotherapist will massage your ankle gently and gauge by your reaction whether to continue with the therapy or give it a break. This treatment should enable you to regain the movement of your ankle in no time.
