Jewish Rehab Center

Jews believe that drugs impersonate the fundamental urge to have a proper relationship with God. They believe that the drugs do this by creating an imagined connection that makes you feel good while in the real sense you are sinking deeper into an addiction. Drug abuse leaves you feeling empty and full of despair. In some cases, drug abuse has had fatal consequences to its user.

Any Jewish Rehab center you come across is based on this belief. They believe that the only way to cure an addiction is by reconnecting them with their Creator. This way, they will be able to bridge the void that is experienced by most addicts. After they have rekindled their relationship with God, they should concentrate on building healthy relationships with those close to them.

The centers also acknowledge the need to look after a patient's physical health. A patient is educated on the need for good physical health and the diet that is most suitable to maintain improved health. The Jewish people believe that addiction can be eliminated by the nurturing of both the spiritual and the human aspects of a patient. A patient may feel an overwhelming desire to quit the addiction; but as long as they have not experienced a change in their character, they will not succeed in their rehabilitation. Being egocentric can lead to a number of destructive tendencies and self actualization is believed to be the fundamental value of change. An unwillingness to change the spiritual aspect of one's life will only lead to the illusion that the patient is quite capable of handling their situation.

One of the addict's major challenges is trying to find meaning in a new life, a life in which they can face even without the comfort of their desired drugs. For most addicts, drugs are equivalent to happiness and giving them up would be condemning them to a world filled with depression. The rehab facilities believe that the patient has got to fill this void within using the peace and joy that comes with getting in touch with one's spiritual being.

The spiritual guidance will also help the recovering addicts fight any temptation to go back to their old habits. Successful therapy can only be attained if the patient is taken through psychotherapy. Self knowledge will improve the patient's will to stay free of drugs but it is a good relationship with the Devine forces that will guide them through the temptations.
