Alcohol is one of the most common drugs available in the market and abused by a very large number of people. Since alcohol is legally acceptable in almost every country in the world. Since many people are exposed to alcohol at an early age, they take it as a hobby and do not realize when the drug eventually takes control of their lives. Being one of the drugs with the highest abuse rate, many organizations that are concerned about the risk of the alcohol addiction to the society have decided to establish rehabilitation centers to assist the addicts in managing their addictions and eventually leading normal lives.

The addiction process actually takes time to manifest itself in an individual and as such cannot be eradicated in one go as many may think. The stimulation that comes from the consumption of the drug eventually becomes part of the victim's natural life and they can no longer function without the stimulation. This situation is eventually becomes an addiction forcing the victim to continue taking more and more alcohol every day in order to function.

Several charitable organizations such as churches and mosques have come up with rehab centers since most of the youth who are their followers often fall victims to the alcohol drug abuse. As earlier discussed, the process o eradicating an addiction has to take the gradual procedure just like it takes to become an addict. In spite of the fact that the alcohol addict could be willing to stop taking the alcohol, it is often difficult to stop without some assistance since the addiction actually leads him to want the alcohol more than he/she can actually control. For this reason, some of the rehab centers will admit the victim so that he/she can be given the alcohol in very small quantities to ward of the withdrawal effects until they become strong enough to stop the ugly habit.
