Drug And Rehab

Drugs have turned into a plague for our society. Some people consider the AIDS to be the disease which has caused the death of more people than any other disease. However, if we take the drug-addiction as a disease (as it is) it will definitely become the one which has taken most victims.

Did you know that fact? If you answered "no", it would not surprise me because it seems that there are very few people who do not show indifference towards this serious problem. However, we must say that there are more and more people who start taking the drug-addiction as something more than just a problem.

But there is even better news- the drug rehab has already become much more effective. I bet that you cannot understand what I mean by saying "more effective". I will just give you some figures which will certainly make you realize my point: in 1995 only 0.5 per cent of the drug-addicted managed to get rid of the addiction forever, in 2000 the percentage went up to 1.3%, in 2004 it is 1.8% and in 2010 we can see that the percentage has gone up to 2.8%. I know that all these figures sound frightening because it means that if we have a group of 100 drug-addicted people, only 3 of them will have the will-power to overcome the disease. But let's not be such pessimists! Actually, those figures sound pretty encouraging because they show us that for less than 20 years the effectiveness of the drug rehab has increased two and a half times!

Aren't you wondering what we owe the success to? I am sure that you would like to know, don't you? Well, it would not be surprising if I said that the medicine has had great achievements throughout that period of time and much better medicines were discovered. It is definitely true but there is something else which I definitely have to share with you. It is that a team of great psychologists have invented a method which aims at making the drug-addicted realize they have a problem. Nobody thought that the work of those psychologists would be of such great importance: you should know that there are already cases in which people stopped using drugs without taking any medicines but there is no case in which somebody has overcome that problem without using the help of a professional psychologist. I am sure that you already know what the most important aspect of the drug rehab is!
