Christian Based Rehab

There are different types of drug rehabilitation, but ultimately so long as you are able to get your loved one cured of the drug addiction, you need to be grateful.

Apart from the conventional drug therapy, there is the Christian based drug rehabilitation where religion is incorporated in the healing process - patients are encouraged to read about God, the Bible, the Christian faith, so that their mind can be usefully occupied and not stray away onto the path of drugs again - the idea is to make the mind tranquil. This is important since when there are withdrawal symptoms, especially in the beginning when addicts are extremely restless and they need help to keep their mind away from drugs -this is where the Bible for Christians can come in handy (people from other faiths would resort to the religious books of their respective faiths ).

There are children who live on the streets, who do not have a proper place to stay and are surrounded by unlawful elements - it would be difficult for them to get cured of their drug addiction in this atmosphere, since the people who supply drugs to them have a vested interest in them not being cured as they can continue to make money, at the cost of these children.

When such Christian drug rehabilitation centers take such children or even adults who do not have a proper place to stay, it helps as in these centers, it will be a sheltered place where there will only be positive, good elements which will be conducive to the healing process. Hopefully, once these drug addicts get discharged from these Christian drug rehabilitation centers, they would have picked up some positive values from the Bible, and become better human beings and stay away from drugs.

There are some drug patients who having taken treatment at a conventional drug therapy center and then need to be discharged since such centers can keep them only for a certain period of time may need some more time before they can get to the outside world -here, too, these Christian drug rehabilitation centers since they serve as a cushion to make their mind stronger and improve the healing process so that they are completely fit to enter the outside world. You have a period of three to four weeks where you can stay at such Christian centers and this period should be more than sufficient for you to join the mainstream again.

At these Christian drug centers it is a combination of medicine and religious faith - the religious faith component involves, prayer, meditation where you sit in total silence and are required to shut yourself from all thoughts and keep your mind completely blank, listening to religious discourses either from live speakers or from tapes or videos, discourses, reading good religious books etc.
