Regarding Prerequisites For Dental School ?
Q: wanted to know if i plan to apply for the entering class of 2001, do i have
until about june of next year(2001) to finish the prerequisites before
entering. and if i just send the transcripts of the prerequisites i plan on
finishing as soon as i complete the course, will it be time enough. what do
dental schools do when a prerequisites isn't on the transcript yet because you
plan on taking it that fall or spring? do they just evaluate the application
and existing transcripts and make sure you take it before you enter in 2001?
A:When you get the application there is a space for you to put "work in
progress" That is where you will put in the courses you need to
complete. This may put you at a disadvantage if it is one of the 4
major classes, bio, orgo, Physics, and general chem. I know one of my
classmates was accepted to a number of schools before she completed
Physics. Another one of my classmates got in without even completing
her bachelors. Either way unless it is Physics I would highly reccomend
that you complete the pre-req. course before taking the DAT (Orgo, Gen
Chem, and Bio). Relax applying is easy, picking which school to go to
is tough
