Q: What does your doctor say? Acid reflux can lead to
esophageal cancer and you need to be in constant contact
with your doctor to nip it in the bud. I know 5 people
who died of it within the last 18 months. I need help finding a full list of foods that cause "Acid Reflux"
A:Two tips I can share which may help, along with following your doctor's advice: 1. Use blocks to raise the head of your bed about five inches higher than the foot of the bed. This way, when you lie down, gravity won't be working against you as much. 2. Drink no more than four ounces of any liquid with a meal. Wait two hours after eating before you drink more. Wait at least an hour after drinking a cup or more of liquid before eating anything solid. If your doctor is treating you for Acid Reflux, I won't argue against antacids, especially not on an empty stomach. But I will comment that the body may ultimately redouble its efforts to produce acid if it has to fight against solutions which try to counteract natural functions artificially. It's worthwhile to look into food combining to regulate the acidity of your stomach. I know that food combining has a mixed reputation in many areas, including weight loss, but managing stomach acid is one field where most folks agree appropriate food combining seems to apply.
