Foreclosure?

Q: I'm new to news groups so please bear with me.... I recently located to Central Florida with my family... we rented a house from a real estate...4 months down the road.... the sheriff knocks at the door with a 24 hrs eviction notice... how could a real estate not know a house was in foreclosure? I find this hard to believe that no one is at fault.. and my family is trying to deal with with all that has happened to us and paying the price.
