Process The Credit Card ?

Q: I am trying to think what the best process for offline credit card processing would be ? I have https so they can use that secured site to enter credit card information, then it is saved to database ... should I keep it there after I process the credit card ? For how long ? Is there another credit card processing as easy as PayPal ? .. I found it pretty easy to implement, problem is that if the person paying doesnt have an account they have to create one .. some people dont like that ... any other options ?

A: -I've just implemented a website with NETBANX payment processing. At first glance it seems very complicated but actually, once you filter through the truck load of dead trees that they send to you (paperwork everywhere!!!) and get to the bits you need, it's actually very straightforward. But quite a bit more expensive than paypal! -there is other companies like futurestore.co.uk that do store the credit card details on your behalf .( there allowed to) then you can have a secret url of say a payment gateway the likes

of secpay.com where you can then enter the card details though ..........This is a better system for the small buisness as we had to pay £10,000 worth of fraud back using a live gateway ..........in goods sent out and people cancelling the transaction after a couple days.........but doing transaction though a third party storing the details and then you can choose whom to process .......that way if things do go pair shaped you will still have to pay the 2.5% credit card fees....................So select carefully your orders to process ........and watch out for arabic name s from Italy ..........as an example .......having a live gateway is a very very dodgy business
