Cheap Business Card Recs?

Q: I'm just getting started, got a few articles in print, and now I'm going to start aggressively looking for gigs. I'd like to get a couple hundred simple but nice-looking business cards for networking, to send off with portfolios, and just in general make my presence felt in Rolodexes around the world. Kinkos is crazy if they think I'm paying $175. Has anyone here tried making cards on your own computer? I've got Office XP and a reasonably decent laser printer. Any tips on printing my own? Any recs for cheap places to get them done?

A: I can't remember what I paid for cards a few years back, but I know it wasn't $175. Can't say that I have really used them much, except to give to interview subjects so they could call me if they thought of anything not covered in the interview. I've run cards off on my computer using Microsoft Publisher (have both a good laser and a color ink jet), but they just don't have the same cachet as professionally done cards. Check around and see if you can find someone cheaper, but be sure and check the type of work they do.
