Q: Could somebody post a contact number (customer service). There are several numbers listed on their web page (such as adoption, litigation) but none of them are for to provide infor on immigration petitions or applications. I have filed my I-485 with Vermont service center and my lawyers says once I have a receipt notice I can take it to the local INS office and get an EAD right away. Regional center (VSC) can take upto 3 months to process an EAD. I want to call Philadelphia office and ask about this. On their webpage they mention that they give EAD same day if you file your I-485 with the local office.
A: -Don't bother calling. They don't publish a number because they don't provide this kind of information by phone. I think you should try to get your EAD from Vermont if you can at all afford to wait that long. The local offices are not supposed to issue EADs until your EAD has been pending with VSC for 90 days already - but some local INS offices are rather lenient about this policy and may give you an EAD anyway. So just give it a try. -This is not an endorsement of any of these Web sites. I am not affiliated with any of the Web site owners and do not receive nor accept payment in return for listing them, and typically don't even know them.
