Cologne Doulton Royal

Royal Doulton perfume and colognes are amongst the world's favorites and the name Royal Doulton conjures up images of not only nobility but grace and tenacity as well. The Doulton family history can be traced back to John Dwight Doulton who is sometimes called the father of English pottery. In 1671 he set up a pottery in Fulham which was just a small village near London. His grandson carried on this work and soon became known as one of the best potters in London. This evolved to a larger premises and with the need of glazed pipes for sewers the company moved into a new and more lucrative area of work. But the Doultons also continued to make pottery which in turn became china. Doulton exhibited his existing lines, together with a range of simply decorated vases, at the Paris Exhibition. These new products drew the attention of Queen Victoria who ordered some for Windsor Castle. That was the beginning of the Royal interest in Doulton and soon the company not only had more business from the Crown, but the right to add Royal to their company name. Over the years Royal Doulton continued to make fine china and started a line of collectible antiques that are still very popular today in England, the United States, and around the world. They have also expanded into a full line of collectibles as well as dining and gifting items. Even perfume and colognes for both women and men. In 1966 Royal Doulton introduced Royall Bayrhum Cologne for Men, which featured the spicy scents of a variety of herbs. In 1985 the company introduced Doulton by Royal Doulton, a casual perfume featuring soft spicy notes of orange flowers and sparkling aldehydes. Along with the classic fragrance of course comes the traditional and caring expertise shown in the packaging as befitting any item with the Royal moniker. The Royal Oxford design is embossed on the silver-colored cap, while the rounded bottle rests in a satiny package of the richest blue.
