Burberry Cologne

The Burberry brand is well known for its distinctive luxury. It has international recognition and broad appeal. Burberry's was founded in Basingstoke, England, in 1856 and positions themselves as the authentic British lifestyle brand. They have a reputation for innovation, quality and style through developments and inventions. Like the invention of gabardine, which was the world's first weatherproof and breathable fabric, and the creation of other easily identified Burberry's like the trench coat, and of the Burberry check. According to the official history of Burberry's, in 1901, Thomas Burberry designed and submitted to the British War Office an army officer's raincoat which made use of the gabardine fabric. The style was approved by HM King Edward VII a year later and became the standard service uniform for British officers. In World War I this raincoat was adapted to include functional epaulettes, straps and D-rings. It was named "the trench coat". In the early 1920s, the Burberry check was introduced as a lining to the trench coat. The Burberry trench coat began to obtain iconic status when it was worn by post-war Hollywood film stars. Burberry products also played a role in exploration, adventure and pioneering first with Norwegian explorer Captain Roald Amundsen in 1911 when he became the first man to reach the South Pole. Then with Captain R.F. Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton on their Antarctic expeditions. In 1919, Captain Sir John William Alcock and Lieutenant Arthur Whitten Brown, wore Burberry apparel on the first-ever flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Today Burberry sells their products in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East through our own directly operated stores and wholesale customers. Burberry operates 151 retail locations consisting of 57 Burberry stores, 70 concessions and 24 outlet stores around the world. Burberry products include apparel for women, men and children and accessories such as handbags, scarves, small leather goods and silks. But it also one of the biggest players in the men's cologne market. There are many different sub- brands to choose from including Touch by Burberry, Burberry Touch by Burberrys, Burberry for Men, Burberry Brit for Men, Burberry of London, Burberry's, Weekend Burberry for Men, and Burberry London.
