Armani is most known for his amazing suits and men's clothing. The Armani collection of fashions began in 1970. He started a company with his friend Sergio Galeotti, who was an architectural draftsman. For five years, they freelanced with various manufacturers and designed for others. He made women's clothes for Tendresse, mannish coats for Gibo, a ready-to-wear house in Florence and also made two menswear collections for Emanuel Ungaro, from whom he learned the good cutting techniques he needed. It was a matter of time before he ventured into more than just fashion. In the early eighties, Giorgio Armani launched one of his very first perfumes, which was Giorgio. This was a sharp and floral perfume that was created at the same time that the designer opened his first series of stores selling some of his less expensively priced lines, including Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani. Giorgio is only one of the many fragrances to come from the House of Armani perfume collection. Giorgio was also re-created to be a unisex scent for both men an women. It is made up of a floral blend of rose, carnation, orris and sandal wood, combined with hints of jasmine and musk. Over the years, Armani has created many other popular perfumes. In 1992, the design house launched the luxurious scent, Gio which is aromatic, fruity and floral cologne. This warm and romantic scent possesses a blend of rose, jasmine, gardenia and mandarin combined with undertones of vanilla, peach and amber. Soon after its launch, Armani introduced the sequel perfume Aqua de Gio. This has a clean, outdoor aroma thanks to the blend of transparent flowers that have been used to create it, giving it a fresh, 'ocean breeze' fragrance.
