Migraines are the worst type of headache that you can have because they cause far more pain and discomfort form a headache that is caused by stress, tension, and sinuses. There are major differences between a migraine and a headache. First of all migraines make you particularly sensitive to noise, light, and movement. When you have a migraine, you tend to feel a throbbing pain in your temples, cheeks and jaw, and neck. Some migraines can cause all over joint pain. There are many medications that you can take for a migraine such as Excedrin migraine, Tylenol with codeine etc. There are numerous medicines for migraines. There are certain triggers that can cause and make a migraine come about. Some of the triggers are loud noises, stress, caffeine, influenza, and allergies. The average person that gets a migraine will get more than one. For those who have never experienced one, it can be very scary. If your first ever headache is a migraine you might want to go to a doctor right away as that usually is a sign of a problem. Other complications that you should look out for when accompanying a migraine are extreme fatigue, lasting fever of 102 or higher, vision blurriness, dizziness, diarrhea, and vomiting/nausea. These are all indications of a serious problem. The migraine pain you experience is often described as throbbing or piercing and may range from moderate to severe. Although migraine headaches are usually one-sided, some people have headaches on both sides of the head. In some people, the pain may switch sides each time a headache occurs making it harder to monitor your status. Migraine headaches tend to recur. A migraine headache typically lasts 4 to 24 hours but in some cases can last up to 3 days. Some people have several headaches per month; others have the headaches much less often. The best treatment for a migraine is to prevent yourself from getting one at all.
