These cards are linked to you checking account, and when they are used, the amount spent is automatically deducted from your bank balance. Sometimes these cards can be linked to actual credit cards, allowing you to spend more than what you have in your account. However, you do not have to go through a credit check to receive a regular debit card. Cash cards offer the convenience of regular credit cards, but without the added temptation of spending more than you have in the bank.
