Making A Letterhead Template

Q: So I haven't used templates very much in Word and I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I designed letterhead for a client and now have to lay it out in a Word template. Part of the letterhead design is at the top (I put this in the 'header') but I want the address and phone number to display as an image on the left side of the page. The text margin should be at 2". The problem is that I can't set the margin to 2" on the document because then the image with the address information shifts over as well. So I set the text as a text box. The problem with this solution is that when you're typing and you get to the end of the page you have to manually reset the cursor on the following page. Because the address only appears on the first page I was able to set the margin to 2" on the second and all subsequent pages, it's just getting from the

first page to the second page which is a problem. Does anyone know how to deal with this? I looked at templates that come with the Office package but it seems most letterhead options only use images in the header and footer so they never have the problem of text appearing in the body of the page...

A: -Either use a section break between the first and second page to set your margins differently or use File/Page Setup/Layout tab different first page. I think this what you are getting at with your question, but it wasn't quite clear. -See http://home.earthlink.net/~wordfaqs/Letterhead.htm ("More Complex Letterhead" section).
