Looking For Someone To Teach Me How To Make Broken China Jewelry
Q: I am looking for someone to teach me how to make broken china jewelry. It is obviously made from pc's of broken china, cut into shapes, ie. heart shape, then some type of silver metal (probably lead, same used for stain glass) adhers around the china piece. I you know where I could learn this, please reply...
A: This is really something, just posted info on this on the Prodigy Jewelry Craft pages. You are thinking correctly, you use the same foil that is used in stained glass. It can be copper or silver or whatever and you can add decorative solder. The pieces can be cut out just as you would a stained glass piece or you can use them free style - just break the plate, cup, whatever. You can find some very interesting pieces at local thrift shops, etc. Make sure the ring you attach is a good quality and strong enough to hold the piece.
