Has Anyone Got A Book Called 'logo & Letterhead' (isbn 1-56496-337-3)?

Q: Has anyone got a book called 'Logo & Letterhead' (ISBN 1-56496-337-3)? It was published by Rockport Printers and is part of the 'Design Library' of which I have the Direct Mail book. I was thinking about getting it (Amazon has it for ?9) but was wondering if anyone else has it, and if so, is it any good? I prefer to go into a bookshop to peruse a book I am interested in before buying it, but ordering over the internet does not give me that 'luxury'!

A: The "Design Library" volumes are simply compilations of pages printed in previous Rockport Publishers volumes. In my design resource library they are probably used less for inspiration than most other larger logo books - even though three of the series showcase some of my work. The Rockport "Letterhead & Logo" series (Volumes 1 - 7) are probably better resources. I believe it's #5 that comes with a CD of design examples from the previous books. Several of the series have been reprinted in paperback. You might want to check online used book sites and look for those books instead. Some other good books, that showcase examples and the process of logo design are: How to Design Logos, Symbols & Icons : 23 Internationally Renowned Studios Reveal How They Develop Trademarks for Print and New Media, by Gregory Thomas and Earl A. Powell Designing Corporate Identity : Graphic Design As a Business Strategy, by Pat Matson Knapp Designing Identity, by Marc English What Logos Do and How They Do It, by Anistasia R. Miller & Jared M. Brown Redesigning Identity, by Catharine Fishel Design It Yourself Logos, Letterheads, & Business Cards, by Chuck Green Bullet-Proof Logos: creating great designs which avoid legal problems, by David E. Carter Blue is Hot; Red is Cool: Choosing the right color for your logo, by David Carter The books listed above are much more than just annuals displaying a large number of logos. Most go much more into the process while providing good examples.
