Creating A Letterhead Template In Word 2000 (help) Tu? Cho?n

Q: Looking for advice on creating a letter head template. I have a letterhead which I use in Microsoft word. Has anyone had experience creating one with a macro?

A: -Sure -- I've created a number of letterhead templates in both WP and Word (up to and including 2000), fully electronic, and for use with preprinted stock. I've also created several one-page docs with banners in the page-1 header, that are updateable through vba menu-driven interfaces. - Tons of experience creating letterhead templates. My advice is to NOT use a macro. Learn about fields. First off, letterheads are usually a one section document. Nice and simple. Use the macro field for placeholders for users to click and type who the letter is for and their address etc.... You can also use this in conjunction with bookmarks to automate the salutation. Additionally, if you set headers/footers to different first page, on the following pages, you can place in the header "[bookmark ref to last name] {hard return} [date] {hard return} page [page ref] of [no of pages - or some such, forgot the field]. This way all the pages after the first page have the header: Johnson 5/12/00 Page 2 of 3 Very professional looking. Course, if you really want to learn about VBA, you could do the whole thing with bells and whistles, but for a letterhead, that's a bit much
