The Prozac Side Effects
Prozac is a drug that is helping people cope with depression. Through constant monitoring by medical professionals and research by the person taking Prozac, it is a drug that has many benefits to people diagnosed with depression. Unfortunately, it is not a cure and therefore should not be totally relied on to solve the problems of a person that has depression. Too often, Prozac becomes a crutch for people and is deemed a quick fix. People look for it without the advice of a doctor and begin to take it themselves. The problem with this is people then don't have a good understanding of Prozac side effects. By law, the Prozac side effects must be clearly stated on the box Prozac comes in. Unfortunately, many of these side effects are complicated to understand and therefore the user doesn't take the precaution he or she may need to. While Prozac can help people with depression, sometimes the side effects are much more severe than the original ailment. Perhaps one of the most common Prozac side effects is fatigue and drowsiness. This is also a symptom of depression and therefore difficult to pick up - is it the result of the depression or is it a Prozac side effect? It is impossible to distinguish between the two for the average person without a medical background. Some Prozac side effects should lead you to stop taking Prozac, but that is difficult to determine if you are unsure how the drug is affecting you. Some other common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, weight loss, appetite fluctuations, and sexual dysfunction. All of these can have different degrees and be hard to pick up as being the result of Prozac. It is important to consult a doctor or some other medical professional if you are taking Prozac and you develop some of these symptoms.
