To destroy the cells and spores of this bacterium, food must be cooked over 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Salmonella is another well known bacterium that is taught how to prevent in food safety training. Salmonella is a food borne infection and can be very severe in children and the elderly. Some of the symptoms include stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, chills, fever, headache, and normally appear six to 48 hours after eating the contaminated food. Food safety training will teach you what foods that salmonella can be found in such as poultry, undercooked eggs, and pork and how to prevent it from spreading to people. Salmonella can be destroyed by high heat very easily. Food safety training is not just important for restaurants, but also for your own personal cooking.
