Know What This Is And Where I Can Get The Osha Training?

Q: I am currently looking for a job in the environmental industry and I frequently come across jobs that require 40 Hour OSHA training. Does anybody know what this is and where I can get the training?

A: Most cities in the U.S. today have one or more firms that specialize in providing training and certification, the OSHA 40 hour haz-mat training included. The OSHA 40 hour course trains an individual in safety procedures and requirements while working in a place that has hazardous materials present. You need this training (and the certificate) in order to be able toenter and work inside a Superfund site, for example. I have seen this course offered for as low as 650 dollars, but have seen it for as high as $1500, so shop around. Most of my fellow grad school mates who have gone on to work in the environmental industry have paid for this course themselves to make them more marketable in their job search. This probably explains why I haven't found a job yet :-P . Call a potential employer and ask them where they would send employees for their OSHA 40 hour.
