Q: On our first trip to Vegas this summer, we plan to make a lot of side trips, like Valley of Fire Park, Red Rock Canyon, etc. Is the Moapa River Indian reservation a good trip? I saw the name on a map and know nothing about it. Can you drive through? Do they sell Indian silver jewelry and handmade articles? Or is it strictly a place to live. I don't want to intrude someplace where outsiders are not welcome (like a high-rollers casino.

The Moapa Indian store is located at exit 75 on I-15. It is the same exit for Valley Of Fire, some 33 mile north of Las Vegas. Besides being a general grocery store, jewelry, native arts (dreamcatchers and the like) fireworks and US tax-free tobacco products are available. Enjoy your travels.
