Vintage Engagement Ring Setting, What Jewelry Item Can You Not Live Without?
Q: My silver ring with the weirdsest turn in the band that was given to me by
an Indian. I was given two, so that they would fit together, i lost one
when i was in the 5th grade, but i still wear this one. (I received them
when i was in the 3rd grade)
A:My wedding ring. My husband had the original ring redone five years
ago. I've posted this before but we sent it through the mail to the
jeweler who designed the original ring. He sent photos of what would
be a good deisgn and we just totally trusted him to do something we'd
like sight unseen. It's a gold band with five diamonds, largest one
in center and two smaller ones on each side. I always receive
compliments about the ring and just love it.
That sounds a lot like my wedding ring, Audrey. It has one big round
stone in the center (which was my engagement ring), then 2 baguettes - 1
on either side of the round solitaire, then 2 small round solitaires -
one on either side of the baguettes. I've never seen one like it, and
get compliments on it all the time. I was surprised it turned out so
nice, since the only picture we saw of it was what the jeweler drew on
paper. He said his drawing couldn't do justice to how the diamonds
would look, and he was right ;)
My wedding/engagement ring set - worth $3400, don't really want to lose that ;)
A pair of 1/3 ct. bezel set diamond studs that my grandfather gave my late
grandmother. There's a story behind these that I've told before, but I'll tell
it again: my grandma didn't have pierced ears, but my grandpa wanted to give
her a pair of diamond earrings. He couldn't find a pair of real diamond
clip-on earrings, so he bought her the niceest CZ clip-ons he could find, then
bought these little studs too. He wrapped them in the same package, and was so
proud that he had given her diamond earrings :) She wore the CZ ones with
pride, and happily told people her dear husband had given her diamond
earrings. My dear grandma left them to me, and I wear them just about every
day. I'm wearing them now, I must have slept in them.
A gold herringbone necklace my husband gave me for our 1st anniversary.
My late father's ID bracelet, airforce ring, and wedding ring.
My college ring - gold and ruby, and not as huge & hideous as most college
rings, it's VERY beautiful.
