Toe Rings Back In?
Q: Are toe rings back IN now? Actually have they ever gone? It's just that I see in the paper everywhere I look toe rings are on sale as well as bracelets and necklaces for men even! Sounds like the surfer/hippie thing has made it's comeback! YAY! What do you think?
A: Well, I hope they didn't go 'out' because I've had mine for about 6 years *G*. I have 2 on each foot and I love them. They make my feet look more dainty and are totally cool in the summer when I go barefoot. They give me no problems with regular shoes and I don't even know I have them on so I never remove them.... I completely agree w/everything you said, dana. i have 3 total (2 on 1 toe and one on another toe--different foot) and i always forget about them. i run, and when i first got them i was thinking they might cause me problems, but i've never had an issue. i think they are just one of those things that won't go out of style, bec. unless you're looking, its just not something that you would notice. (Butting in) You can find cheapie toe rings just about anywhere these days. Most dept. store jewelry depts. seem to have them, as well as most stores that cater to the teen female demographic. For some nice, higher-end ones (yellow, pink, or white gold, real diamonds), check out www.toesies.com. I've bought mine all over...when I go to the mall I see cute ones all over the place :). My latest are from Hot Topic, which also has really cute belly button rings for only $35! My first ones came from Claires and teenage stores like that. I'm going to have to check out Toesies.com - I've always wanted some 14K gold to go with all my other jewerly but all I ever seen are sterling silver. i visited a girlfriend in cali and she took me to...it was like a flea market. theres a proper name for it but i forget what it was called. anyhow, they sold toe rings there and the people totally measure your toes and put them on to determine sizes and stuff. i've never seen that done anywhere else. Hmm...I only noticed mine for a day or so. I'd say if you can 'feel' it and it bothers you that it's either too big (wide), too heavy or the closure isn't pushed together enough. Sometimes I snag one on something and it pulls it apart a little and then I can feel it. I just reach down and push it back together very very closely. (I make them just about squeeze my toes so that they don't move around). There are many different weights to toe rings and I had to get rid of one that was too heavy. That could be what happened to you. I buy small, dainty looking rings that aren't very wide. Since they are so cheap I'd say buy 3 or 4 and try them out. It'll only waste a few bucks if you decide you don't like them/can't wear them. FYI - my daughters keep buying toe rings and they take them off after a few days. Maybe some people have sensitive toes? I have 2 on each foot (2nd and 3rd toes) and I totally forget I have them unless I put on a pair of really tight heels.
