Man Jewelry For Valentine Day

Q: I'm 17, no job, just started seeing this girl. I want to get her a GOOD Valentine's Day present, so I'm obviously getting a job QUICK. That's not a problem, I can get work. Problem is: I don't know what to get her. I want to get her something nice, so I was thinking maybe a bracelet, necklace or something, but they all seem so unimaginative. I was thinking maybe writing her a nice poem, but that seems to cheap. Perfume, etc. isn't my style, and I'm uncomfortable buying clothes for her, especially for Valentine's (seems too unromantic.) Was thinking maybe some jewelry and some type of poem about her, and maybe dinner at a nice restaurant. What do you think of this?

A:jewelry when you've just started seeing each other is a no-no. If a man whom I've just met gave me jewelry, I'd feel really uncomfortable. I'd say ixnay on that. Poem? Well, how well do you know her? I think that if it's possible, a nice picnic would be fun. That, or a day in the park (if you live near a cool park)...but I guess when i was 17, dinner at a fancy restaurant was really cool! Imagine her coming to school the next day and bragging to her girl friends that you took her out. I think that is your best option. Nice dinners were always cool when I was 17. What a novelty. Get her a little teddy bear! That's always cute. Oh, I didn't read the whole thing. Don't get her perfume. Women are picky with perfume. Don't get her clothes, either!!! Usually, they're picky with clothes, too. My exboyfriend got me clothes for my bday when we were going out. Even though we knew each other well, it was still an eye-rolling experience.
