Man Jewelry Case

Q: I was thinking it'd be a good gift for, say, St. Valentine's Day, to give my wife some sort of jewelry case/chest, etc., mostly to keep The Very Nice Stuff (with the exception of her perals, everything else would be platinum/white gold) while the other stuff can be kept in the present abode for the whole of her current inventory. It needn't be huge since, off the top of my head, I'd say she needs to store: 5 Necklaces 3 Rings 5 Bracelets 4 Earrings (stud) 3 Earrings (hoop) Any suggestions???

A:I hate to be a killjoy on what is, after all, the first day of the rest of our lives, but if one of your New Year's resolutions is to put a moratorium on the aquisition of more jewelry by that cute, sweet girl you married then you are in for disappointment. I don't know how much space you will eventually need, but I can be certain that it is more than you have in mind. I think it's a lot like buying shirts. It's probably the case that I have so many shirts that I will never need to buy another one, but I know that I WILL buy more shirts. What I need now is more closet space. The problem with an attractive case for jewelry is, if your house is ever burgled, your best stuff, unless you've gone to the bank, is all conveninetly there for the taking. Therefore I kind of scatter the good stuff around a bit, in hopes of at least making it inconvenient for someone who'd want to cart it off. One thing I do is use soft travel cases, small ones, to store jewelry and then it makes it easy to tuck in out of the way places.
