Jewelry Orders - Reasonable Time To Wait?

Q: This may be an unanswerable question, but I was wondering if there was a reasonable ballpark time to expect to wait for mailorder body jewelry to arrive? I'm talking basic barbells, nothing custom at all. I made 2 jewelry orders from a website (a site I found via BME that I've received good service from in the past); one I've been waiting for 12 weeks, the other, a month. I've had to repierce during that time so I won't even be able to wear the jewelry (too long), making it even more frustrating to wait for, not to mention the fact that I'm moving in a few weeks and won't be able to get it at all. Am I being unreasonable in expecting faster service? I was hoping for some insight from those of you who order jewelry all the time, before I send my nasty note

A:I have never ordered from a Mod-related jewelry manufacturer without having them (1) lose my order, (2) send me defective or incorrect items, or (3) conveniently forget to tell me the item is not in stock and I'll have to wait three more months to get it--after waiting two months before asking why it hadn't arrived yet. I will not name names, but this has happened to me with four, yes four, different well-known manufacturers. Makes me wonder how they stay in business! Therefore, while your our experience is not unusual in my experience, it still sucks big time! I have stopped trying to order jewelery via the mail at this point--it's just not worth the hassle. After 12 weeks of waiting, I would give them a call, not send a note. My guess is that you will discover one of the above excuses if you talk to an actual human. Good luck to you!
