Diamond Earrings .

Q: I stopped by a jewelry store with the intention of looking for some different earrings. The gold hoops somehow look a little large with my hair up in a pony tail. I saw some diamond earrings that really caught my attention. However I had doubts about there acceptability about daily wear to an office. Some how I think of them as special occasion jewelry. Any thoughts?

A: I see diamonds worn with casual clothes as well as with dressier outfits or even middle of the road outfits. This includes diamond studs or hoops. Unless they are the elaborate drop earrings or earrings with a lot of fancy filigree work I think it perfectly fine to wear them to the office. I have two different sets of diamond studs--one set is a 1.5ct(each) pair of radiant cut diamonds, and the other is a 1 ct (each) brilliant (round) cut. These are my staples along with pearl studs and there are others in the office who wear similar jewelry. And have two pairs of diamond earrings which I wear every single day. My staple pair are tiny diamond flower studs. My alternate pair are the same thing, really, only dangling on a European back closure.
