Consignment

Q: I called the two consignment stores closest to me to see if they would put my jewelry on consignment, and both said that they wouldn't be interested. The first one said that they don't take beaded jewelry that people make themselves, the other said they just wouldn't be interested. Most of the rest of the consignment stores specialize in childrens items.

A:More places take consignment then you may realize. Go into any gallery style shop or shop that carries jewelry in the pricerange you are aiming at (of course they don't need to carry something like what you make!). Also, hand made jewelry may be a better description then "beaded jewelry" to get you into the door. They may be picturing something different from what you do when you say "beaded jewelry". The place I ended up putting my stuff on consignment in, I walked in and said I made hand-made original jewelry and I fingered the necklace I was wearing when I said it.
