Won't Deal With This Debt Negotiation Program?

Q: The Federal Trade Commission has obtained a court order temporarily shutting down a debt negotiation operation, an operation NBC4 investigated and told you about last summer. Wednesday, the FTC accused the National Consumer Council, (NCC) a charity based in Santa Ana, Calif., of deceiving consumers across the country and bilking tens of millions of dollars from people who thought they were getting help with their debts. Were clients told that there were certain Credit Card companies that won't deal with this debt negotiation program?

A: -What connection does this company have to the cult? I must admit that their tactics and level of honesty are similar to that of $cientology, especially the whole non-profit scheme. Lets hope that the people behind this scheme are put in a cell between Charlie Manson and some Enron executives -He furthered added that he was "mad as hell and not going to take it anymore." Ok, that was Howard Beale, but I couldn't resist. Thanks for finding, digging and reporting ptsc, this is a great story. -Hopefully when this is pulled apart, there'll be a money-trail running through CoS. So far, CoS has managed to muzzle the IRS, and distance itself a bit from messes like Reed Slatkin. Even after high-level people have left, there hasn't been much illumination on CoS money activities post-Elron.
