Stock Price Histories
Whether you are just considering investing in a certain stock and you want to be as informed about that particular enterprise as possible or you are already an investor and would like to research the price history of a stock you are already invested in or have invested in before, stock price histories are one of those things that slews of people need and have a hard time knowing where to start looking for. Even if you are already up to your shoulders in stocks and bonds, if you want to be smart and exercise caution with your investments, it is always helpful to research the past histories of each individual stock as you consider investing in it, to be as fully informed as possible before you leap into anything. Stock price histories are useful in researching past information about the success or failure of an enterprise, and it's a great way to predict trends that the individual stock listings may or may not follow. There are numerous ways you can go about looking up the individual price histories for your prospective investments. The easiest and probably most obvious place to start would be the World Wide Web. Without even knowing the ticker symbol of the company you are researching (that can be obtained by simply visiting the business enterprise's web site) you can obtain individual stock price histories for any stock you wish. One site that offers information on prices of stocks on the market would be Yahoo! Finance, which will allow you to look up the price history of any particular stock. If you like, they will also deliver monthly, weekly, and even daily stock prices to your email inbox. If the involved Yahoo! Finances route is too involved and you seek more basic, recent information about a particular enterprise's recent stock prices, that information can usually be found on the company's official website. The internet is probably the easiest and simplest resource to ass when you would like to research the price histories of prospective stocks, the internet is the most sensible way to go, but if for some reason you hate computers or the internet isn't giving you the information you are specifically seeking, The Daily Stock Price Record or Daily Stock Price Indices contain the detailed stock price histories of each individual stock. It is published in volumes four times a year, and can be found on the shelves of your local library. If the information you are looking for is recent, try a larger newspaper such as the New York Times or the Washington Post to look up individual stock price histories. Sometimes the newspaper is the most reliable source for recent pricing information. Stock information is generally published in the newspaper under the FINANCE or BUSINESS section, and information listed is usually for the previous day.
