Choosing The Perfect Beach Chair
Few people give serious thought to their beach chair. Sun worshipers may spend days finding a cute beach towel and weeks looking for the ideal beach wear, but these same people will grab the first wobbly beach chair their eyes happen upon at Wal-Mart. This is a mistake. If you are planning on sunning yourself on a beach, a beach chair is one of your most important accessories. It can keep you comfortable and cool in the hot sun and can help keep you organized at the beach. It can keep you out of the sticky sand and away from sand fleas and other pests that live in the sand. A beach chair is also perfectly versatile and can see you through picnics and evenings at the lake. On the other hand, if you choose a bad beach chair, you may find yourself getting little or no use out of it. You may even find that the chair hurts your back or legs. Taking a few minutes to find a beach chair that suits you just makes good sense, as your chair will be an investment that will see you through summer after summer - long after your current swim suit is packed away in the attic or thrown out. There are a few ways to make sure that you get the beach chair that will see you through: oAlways try your beach chair out before buying. This is important since most beach chairs are not adjustable, and that means that you will need to find a beach chair that is neither too tall (leaving the backs of your legs cutting painfully into the seat of the chair) or too short (cramping your back. oMake sure that any beach chair you buy is stable, not wobbly, and secure. It should rest securely on any surface, including sand, and provide a comfortable sitting surface. oFind a beach chair made out of comfortable material. There are canvas beach chairs and beach chairs made out of all sorts of synthetic materials. In general, a canvas chair is best since it will not cause your skin to sweat as much. Wooden beach chairs are also good if portability is not an issue for you. oYour beach chair should be portable. That means it should be easy to carry from the car to the beach. It should also store your essentials, either at the back of the chair in a pouch or under the seat. Some types of beach chair even have a small beverage caddy in the arm rest for a cool drink.
