Classic auto insurance is available to you if you drive a classic car that requires a different auto plan policy than regular cars and trucks. In fact, there are some insurance agents that specialize in only selling insurance for unique vehicles such as the classic car, muscle cars, the antique car from another era, and sports cars. This means that you'll get personalized service for getting the insurance that you need when you drive a classic car. Classic auto insurance differs from the insurance that you have for your standard vehicles. This is because the insurance that you take out on your classic car will have different policy concerns than the regular car. You're probably not driving your classic car each and every day so you'll want a policy that allows for this type of flexibility. Many classic car insurance agents will allow you to choose the type of insurance plan that you want, particularly if you're only using your classic car on a limited use basis. Examples of two types of classic car policies are (1) a policy with full coverage where you're paying for liability, as well as having coverage for the other drivers who are underinsured or not insured at all, medical policy additions, no-fault insurance, comprehensive, and collision, and (2) a limited use policy where you can choose to add as much or as little of the optional insurance as you want. You can also choose your classic auto insurance based on how many miles you're going to be driving your car each year. Some insurance agents will offer insurance for classic model cars (cars that are 15 years or older and which have been restored to a near-new condition) that have some very restrictive guidelines that you need to follow. You'll only be able to use your classic car for parades, exhibits, for club events, for an occasional drive for pleasure only, or for use in a private car collection. If you're driving the classic car for pleasure you can't leave the car unattended at any time, such as running into a store to shop or in a parking lot while you shoot a round of golf. Classic auto insurance is very affordable if you take out a policy that covers the basic security that you need for driving a unique car.
