Income Tax Rate
Here's what the IRS says about these tax tables:. Tax rates apply only to the income listed in each tax bracket range. These tax rates apply only to taxable income. Using different adjustments and deductions, including the standard deductions and personal exemptions, will all change a person's taxable income. With the result that taxable income will almost always be less than your total income.
Capital gains will almost always be taxed at different tax rates and should be calculated separately.
