A:my VC and exp Manager of Sales Training (1994-1997) Chosen from a long list of qualified candidates to position the salesforce for continued growth into the next millennium. Selection process included input form the CEO to several vice presidents and sales directors. Developed training matrix based on needs analysis for 115 sales personnel (including sales managers and sales directors) in the US and Canadian markets. The group consisted of four distinct sales disciplines with different responsibilities. Implemented the schedules and delivered the programs needed to maximize the individual sales peoples knowledge and abilities. Designed and conducted 10 product training classes (4 to 4 1/2 days each) for company and distributor sales personnel over 3 year period. Effectively trained over 900 individuals in product (respiratory, eye, face, head, and hearing protection) and sales (professional selling skills, professional sales coaching, and professional sales negotiating) over a three-year period which resulted in a sales increase of over 17% in F/Y 96. Respiratory Product Specialist (1993-1994) Conducted product and technical training for the US industrial sales force and numerous distributor sales personnel across the US. Resulted in surpassing the respiratory sales quota by 9%. This business had been declining steadily, every year, for the prior eight years. Distributor Sales Manager (1991-1993) Managed product sales of respiratory, eye, face, head, and hearing protection products in a five-state region. Resulted in surpassing the previous year’s sales by 8 percent and 11 percent in 1991 and 1992 respectively. Resulted in 1.2 million in sales within the first 12 months, a 13% increase over the prior year sales. Established 3 new private label hearing protection products for Zee Medical; $200 K new business first year. LOUIS M. GERSON CO., Middleboro, MA 1985 – 1990 Regional Sales Manager Developed and managed respiratory product sales in 22 states. Hired and trained 12 sales representatives. Resulted in sales increases from $615 K in 1985 to $2.3 million in 1990. ALLIED INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTORS, Phoenix, AZ 1984 – 1985 Territory Manager Developed and managed end user safety business in Northern Arizona and Southern Nevada. Resulted in sales increase from $30 K per month to $65 K per month over a 12 month period. The profit over the same time period changed from 18% GMP to 25 % GMP; net result is over 300% gain in profit. NORTON CO. – NORTON SAFETY PRODUCTS, Worcester, MA 1971 – 1984 NORTH SAFETY, Cranston, RI Held six positions over 13 year period; including Customer Service, Sales, and Sales Training. Developed and managed product sales in two state area. Resulted in steady sales increases ranging from 6 to 41 percent over a six year period. Growth in 1982 brought over $500 K in new business. Awarded the largest geographical territory with the largest dollar volume out of a pool of 35 sales people in an organizational change in 1983. Managed and developed sales in this new territory from $2.4 million to $3.2 million in 1984. Delivered
