Heartburn Indigestion Pepto

Q: I have been having terrible heartburn or acid reflux for over 3 days now. I have taken tums, rolaids, pepto bismo, everything. It is such a severe burning in my esophages that I can't even sleep! (I have been propping my pillow up at night, not laying flat) I have always had mild heartburn and been able to control this, and I haven't eaten anything different. What's going on? Could it be something worse? Can anyone explain this to me please? I am really in need of your help.

A:One thing you may not have tried and is usually effective within a minute or two; a pickle..It is not common but there are people who do not produce enough stomach acids.. the symptom is; heartburn. If this is the case, all the anti acids are only aggaravating the condition. This condition is more common in the older generation. When everything is slowing down. I get awful heartburn from another medicine I take. I am on a prescription that is wonderful for acid reflux. It's called Nizatidine Another thing you can do maybe that:You should definitely go see a doctor or you should Try Prilosec OTC
