Apple Cider Vinegar

Q: Does apple cider vinegar really work on heartburn? I'm 10 weeks pregnant and have had the WORST heartburn and morning sickness I think I've ever heard of.... and to top it off, my Dr put me on Zantac (300 mg) and it made me zonk out for 12 hours at a time and when I woke, I felt drugged up, dizzy, pulse racing, and just plain sick. So I'm looking for a long-term holistic medicine to help out. What are some of your experiences with apple cider vinegar?

A:Here's a link for some testimonies of people of use ACV for heartburn. If you try it, just make sure that you have the ACV with "mother." It's the best quality stuff, and most effective. A few more options: because heartburn is caused from our bodies being too acidic, adding lemon juice to your water (no sugar) can be very helpful. So can drinking baking soda in water, at the time of your heartburn. Try a combination of all three and see if it gives you any relief. A final note: for the ACV, you can make a hot cup of tea, instead of taking it straight (which tastes TERRIBLE!)... a hot cup of water, a tablespoon of ACV and a teaspoon of honey or so, to taste. If you are sensitve to smell right now, this may not be the greatest option, so definitely try the lemon in the water. And drink LOTS of water.
